Reflexology is the act of applied pressure to particular points or areas of the foot as it corresponds to the body. It is believed that by placing pressure on these points, healing can occur in other parts of the body, including sinuses, intestinal tract, and thyroid problems. Although reflexology is typically done through the feet, sometimes it is done through hands. Many reflexology maps can be found to show how the foot corresponds to body parts.

Shiatsu: literally translated as finger pressure.
What is it?
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage that has roots in Japan and China. It works along the meridians of the body, as well as acupunture points for accupressure. Shiatsu uses hand pressure and stretching techniques to help the body maintain good health and balance.
What to expect:
Shiatsu massages are traditionally given while fully clothed. (Loose fitting clothes or sweats are preferred.) There is assisted stretching, rotation, gentle rocking, and hand finger-thumb pressure applied to the body, for either a relaxing or invigorating experience.
This wonderful service will be provided by Richard Fenton. You can view his profile under the about us section of out website.

Many know that massage provides an excellent way to heal muscles, and increase blood circulation. In a new study, massage therapy was performed on children with burns, showing positive signs of healing. The study reported finding that before massage, scars were non-pliable and red, however after, the scars were pink/skin colored, and had much more elasticity to the skin.
This just provides more evidence of the healing powers of massage.
