Healing Through Nature – Our Carrier Oils

An essential part of any great massage is massage oils. Each and every massage oil has its own unique properties – and can complement different types of massage or help alleviate specific skin, muscle, and joint problems. Read on about the all-natural carrier oils we use in our massage practice, and how they can benefit you uniquely in your quest for health and healing.

Sweet Almond Oil (Certified Organic)

Sweet almond oil – derived from the health-boosting almond tree and nut – aids in improving and alleviating a wide variety of conditions. Rich in vitamin A and E, sweet almond oil can improve acne anywhere on the body, helps protect the skin from the UV radiation that causes skin cancers, dry skin, and aging effects, and aids skin in retaining moisture for healthier and more youthful-looking skin. Almond oil is also used as a remedy for eczema, rosacea, and other inflammatory skin conditions, and can help remove toxins from the skin.

Sesame Oil (Certified Organic)

In addition to being a top-shelf moisturizer for the skin, sesame oil improves circulation and skin cell health, slows the effects of aging, and helps soothe and eliminate rashes and inflammations in the skin. In addition, its anti-inflammatory effects can help to combat the effects of arthritis, fibromyalgia, sciatica, and other musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.

Jojoba Oil (Certified Organic)

Jojoba oil has long been prized as an incredible moisturizer and skin youthening agent. Jojoba oil helps to balance the moisture levels of skin, combats acne, cleanses and detoxifies the skin, and reduces signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines. Its anti-inflammatory properties can also assist in the relief of mild arthritis.

Fractionated Coconut Oil (Wildcrafted)

Fractionated coconut oil is among the best carriers for essential oils, and stays liquid even when refrigerated, making it an easy-to-use tool for massage therapists. Fractionated coconut oil provides most, if not all, of the same skin-healing and moisturizing effects as regular coconut oil, including assisting in moisture retention and healing and relieving dry and cracked skin. Like most other carrier oils, it’s non-comedogenic – meaning it won’t clog your pores – which makes it appropriate for those who suffer from acne and other skin conditions associated with problematic sebaceous glands.

Whether you’re in for a sports massage with a side of dry skin relief or a pain-relieving relaxation massage for arthritis or fibro, there’s a carrier oil that’s perfect for your purpose.
